How Do I Cover Extremely Difficult Pimples?

While covering certain types of acne with acne fader will make it disappear immediately, there are some stubborn types of pimples which you may need to do a little more to cover. Don't worry though, we gotchu.

Covering Certain Types Pimples

The scabbed over ones:

  • If you didn’t follow our advice and picked your pimple to shit, it may be harder to cover. Don’t worry we do it too. No judgement here. The first thing to do is to make sure the pimple is scabbed over before you apply concealer to it. Also be sure to disinfect the pimple and area before you put on concealer. Neosporin or another form of antibacterial ointment will work. Once the pimple has dried over, use a thin layer of concealer and slowly build it up until it's covered.

The monster mountains:

  • If you have cystic acne or nodular acne, you may have a few of these. They’re harder to disguise with concealer. You can reduce the size of a big old pimple with ~garlic. Try applying it over night (preferably when no one is sleeping with you because icky stinky garlic) and leaving a bandage over it. Cold water and ice can also help you reduce the size of a pimple. Holding a cold spoon or ice cube over a pimple may reduce inflammation and help it go away sooner. You can’t quite cover these since they’re more growth-like than reddish pimples. But concealer can still help disguise any discoloration.

Ingrown hairs:

  • If you shave frequently or you have curly hair, you may be more likely to get ingrown hairs. Using a hydrocortisone cream, exfoliating before you shave, and using a toner (more on that later), can help reduce the appearance of ingrown hairs or razor burn.

Note from FRONTMAN: We recommend that if you have severe acne, to be selective with how much concealer you use and how often. If you’re on Accutane or another medication to treat acne, your skin may be super sensitive. In which case, it's best to just let it be. The first and most important step is to get treatment to get your acne under control. We recommend booking an appointment with a  dermatologist first.
