How Charcoal Can Prevent Men's Acne

Aug 04, 2022

In short, charcoal is the world’s best absorber — especially ACTIVATED charcoal.

Activated charcoal is basically charcoal that’s been exposed to so much heat, it increases its surface area leaving the surface with lots of little holes to absorb things better.

That’s it. That’s the science.

But there’s more when you’re talking about what activated charcoal absorbs on top of oils: mainly bacteria and fungus. It’s why you see charcoal not only in whitening toothpaste but also in anti-fungal medications for foot, body odor treatments, and more recently across products for acne that aim to absorb the materials that get into pores and don’t leave with just soap and water.

And because charcoal is produced from coconut shells, plant fibers, coal, and wood — it’s very safe to use on the skin.

Here’s how to use activated charcoal products like FRONTMAN Papers:

1) Remove impurities or skin-bumps you can’t get rid of

If you’re using a lot of products in the shower or on your face, or just touching things around the office or at home, you’re bound to touch your face and absorb some of those toxins and nasty chemicals. All these things can continually help, but be sure to use a charcoal product *once a week* for a deep cleanse *even if you don’t notice any blemishes*.

2) Eliminate blackheads

Blackheads are one of the most constant forms of skin-blemishes, and charcoal is an amazing solve to these. A 2019 study found that charcoal actually temporarily enlarged the pores in your face to help get out the underlying cause of blackheads.

3) Soothe Acne-prone Skin

Acne is caused by pore inflammation, so if you’re using something to clean out your pores, you can quickly reduce the inflammation by dabbing activated charcoal on it. As a bonus, Activated Carbon sheets are actually a very light exfoliant to remove dead skin cells.

So all-in-all… why wouldn’t you use Charcoal Activated products??
